Tuesday Throwdown - Paper Piecing

Moikka!
Tiistai, aika Tuesday Throwdown haasteen! Tämän viikon teemana on "Paper Piecing" eli kuvan/osan kuvaa kokoaminen eri papereille leimatuista osasista.

Toivottavasti tulet haasteilemaan kanssamme, askartelun iloa!

Hi!
Time for new Tuesday Throwdown Challenge! This week we'd like to see your Paper Piecing which is a technique I love: you stamp your image (or part of it, for example the clothing your character is wearing) on different papers and form your image with the pieces you've cut out. It's easy to do with digi images too -you simply print right on patterned paper. I paper pieced my entire image, it's from  Fred, She Said who we are lucky to have as our sponsor this time. The image can be purchased here. You don't need any special skills for paper piecing but I'd like to share a couple of helpful hints:

*you'll need good, sharp scissors. Small crafting scissors/crafting knife will come in handy too.
*when you cut, keep your scissors in an angle -this will give a less edgy cut
*after cutting your pieces, very carefully ink the cut edges with black ink using a little dabber or a small piece of sponge. This will hide the white core of your paper and give a more finished look -you can also cover up mistakes in your cutting if you've been unable to cut right next to your stamped outline.

I've raised the flowers with 3d foam stickers for extra dimension and that's about all I have to say about my card -it's super simple! :) I hope you'll feel like making some paper piecing... Head to the
challenge blog for more DT inspiration!
